START PREPARING FOR GCSE (9-1) Maths TODAY
The new GCSE (9-1) specification demands much more of students. There are more concepts and skills to master and a much bigger emphasis on problem solving. The exams are one hour longer, meaning that the assessment will be much more comprehensive.
In terms of grading, there are now 3 top grades - 7,8 and 9, to replace A*/A. Instead of a grade C being a pass, there is now Grade 4 (low C) and Grade 5 (high C). In years to come one can expect these changes to have a significant impact on entry requirements for higher education courses and apprenticeships.
